About the Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program:

Providers working full-time with pediatric patients may be eligible to receive up to $100,000 in loan repayment in return for a three-year service commitment. Eligible disciplines include: Physicians, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed or Certified Master’s Level Social Workers, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Substance Use Disorder Counselors working in a pediatric medical subspecialty, pediatric surgical specialty, as a child or adolescent psychiatrist, or behavioral health providers working in pediatrics or substance use disorder services.

Pediatric Specialties for Physicians include, but are not limited to, cardiology, critical care medicine, dermatology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology-oncology, hospital medicine, infectious disease, nephrology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, pulmonology, rheumatology, rhinology, transplant hepatology, and urology.

Pediatric Physician Specialists and eligible Mental Health Providers must be working at an eligible facility type in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA), Medically Underserved Area, or Medically Underserved Population designated by the federal government and approved for program participation by the Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program. Please note, although your location may be approved, there are program requirements that must be met by the individual provider. All providers must be working full-time 40 hours per week, providing services to pediatric patients in the above specialties for at least 36 hours weekly.
